In short
- We use your phone number to sign you in and contact you about your order.
- We store your delivery address so the store can deliver to you.
- We do not show ads, run analytics/tracking, sell your data, or track your location in the background.
- You can request deletion of your account and data at any time — see section 10.
1. Overview
Sebete (the “App”) is a food and goods delivery application operated by Creative Assistance Company (“we”, “us”, or “our”). The App lets you browse stores, place orders, and have them delivered to your address. Store administrators review each order and accept or reject it.
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the App. By using Sebete, you agree to the practices described here. This policy is governed by the laws of Iraq.
2. Information We Collect
We only collect information that is necessary to operate the App:
a. Account information
- Phone number (required) — used to create your account and sign you in with a one-time verification code (OTP).
- Name and email address (optional) — if you choose to provide them, to personalize your account and receipts.
b. Delivery information
- Delivery addresses you save or enter — including street, building, floor, flat/apartment, company name, a contact phone number, and any additional notes you add.
c. Location
- When you choose to set a delivery address on the map, the App may request your device location to help you pin and find your address more accurately. This is used only at that moment, with your permission. We do not track your location continuously or in the background.
d. Voice orders (optional)
- If you use the optional voice-order feature, the App records a short audio note and attaches it to your order so the store can understand your request. Recording happens only when you tap to record.
e. Order information
- Details of the orders you place — items, quantities, prices, any coupon used, totals, order status, and order history.
f. Support messages
- If you contact a store through the in-app support chat, we store the messages you exchange so the conversation can continue.
g. Notification token
- A device push-notification token (provided by Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can send you updates about your order status. This token identifies your device for notifications, not you personally.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above only to:
- Create and secure your account and sign you in.
- Take, process, and deliver your orders.
- Share your order and delivery details with the store you ordered from so it can prepare and deliver your order.
- Send you notifications about your order status (e.g. accepted, rejected, on the way, delivered).
- Let you and the store communicate through in-app support.
- Provide customer support and resolve issues.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to delivering your orders.
4. Device Permissions We Request
The App asks for the following permissions. Each is optional in the sense that you can decline it; some features will not work without it.
- Location — to help you select and pin your delivery address on the map. Used only while you are using the App.
- Microphone — to record an optional voice note for your order. Used only when you start a recording.
- Notifications — to alert you about your order status.
You can change or revoke any of these permissions at any time in your device settings.
5. What We Do NOT Do
- We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
- We do not track your location in the background or in real time.
- We do not build advertising profiles about you.
7. Third-Party Services
The App relies on the following third-party services. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies:
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — delivers push notifications about your orders. Firebase privacy · Google Privacy Policy.
- Google Maps Platform (Google) — displays the map and helps convert your selected point into an address (geocoding). Google Privacy Policy.
Our own backend servers, operated by Creative Assistance Company, store your account, addresses, and orders.
8. Data Retention
We keep your account information and order history for as long as your account is active, so you can see your past orders and we can provide support. Voice notes and support messages are retained as part of the related order or conversation. When you request deletion of your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data, except where we are required to keep certain records (for example, basic transaction records for legal or accounting purposes).
9. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) between the App and our servers, and one-time codes for sign-in rather than stored passwords. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.
10. Your Rights & Account Deletion
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information (e.g. your name or address) in the App.
- Delete your account and associated personal data.
- Withdraw permissions (location, microphone, notifications) via your device settings.
To delete your account and data: you can request deletion from within the App, or by emailing us at info@creativeassistance.co from the phone number or email linked to your account. We will verify your request and delete your personal data within 30 days, except for records we are legally required to retain.
11. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Your continued use of Sebete after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
